OUR APPROACH

Thoughtful psychiatry for the whole person.

Mental health care should be more than a diagnosis or a prescription. At Northwind Holistic Psychiatry, we take time to understand the person behind the symptoms and develop treatment around your individual needs, goals, health, and life.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Care should be evidence-based, individualized, and human.

Mental health is influenced by more than symptoms alone. Biology, physical health, life experiences, sleep, stress, relationships, medications, environment, and daily habits can all affect how we feel and function.

We consider those factors together and build treatment around the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

01

Start with the whole picture.

We look beyond a symptom checklist. Psychiatric history, medical health, medications, sleep, stress, lifestyle, relationships, and individual circumstances all provide important context.

02

Use medication thoughtfully.

Medication can be an important part of treatment, but prescribing is not the entire plan. We emphasize appropriate selection, education, monitoring, and adjustment over time.

03

Support what influences recovery.

Depending on your needs, care may also address sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, metabolic health, behavioral strategies, supportive therapy, and evidence-informed non-medication options.

04

Make decisions together.

We believe patients should understand their options and have a meaningful voice in treatment. Recommendations are explained clearly and developed collaboratively whenever possible.

WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE

More than medication management.

Good psychiatric care is not about adding more treatment simply for the sake of doing more. It is about understanding what matters, identifying what is most likely to help, and making changes thoughtfully.

ABOUT OUR PROVIDERS

What is a PA-C?

Physician Assistants, also referred to as Physician Associates, are licensed medical professionals educated in a physician-based medical model.

In psychiatric practice, PAs may evaluate and diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe and manage medications, order appropriate testing, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing psychiatric care within applicable state laws and practice requirements.

At Northwind, our providers also coordinate with physicians, therapists, primary care clinicians, and other members of a patient's healthcare team when clinically appropriate.
